Ed Husic, Australia’s Industry and Science Minister, lamented Labour’s inner culture after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza failed to pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reportedly described his remark at a gathering as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unfazed by criticism, declaring reporters: "put me in a freezer, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed unsuccessful tries to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Party documents and internal files were later filed that revealed serious rifts within Labour’s ranks over strategy and leadership.
