Toronto’s GM John Chayka said the club is considering a deal for Columbus defenseman Zach Werenski following the NHL Draft.
The Leafs have added a handful of prospects in the draft’s final round.
Chayka confirmed that organizations are contacting Columbus to gauge Werenski’s availability.
Rumors also associate goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to the organization.
Chayka addressed the recent move of defenseman Brandon Carlo to St. Louis and noted that deadline pressures compel the club to act fast, reminding that the team must act quickly on all decisions.
