Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli came back to the U.S. on Wednesday. They wrapped up tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. Around that same period, a large number of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa arrived back in Japan after missions linked with the Iran situation. The Tripoli docked at its home port in Okinawa, concluding its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force concluded joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit freed a one-week-old seal pup that was left on its own.
