The Pokémon GO Fest 2026 launch includes a global timed research called “Genetic Mastery”. The research targets Mega Mewtwo X. Polygon, Insider Gaming and Sportskeeda have published the objectives, challenges and prizes in this quest. Completing the research unlocks special gear and the chance to snag Mega Mewtwo X in raid fights.
The weekend event runs Saturday through Sunday. On Sunday trainers may enter 5‑star raids and epic raids featuring the new Mega Mewtwo X. Mein‑MMO noted the raid schedule and rewards for the two days. The event also offers bonus XP and boosted capture chances for all Pokémon over the weekend.
