Civil engineering firm Jacobs has expressed pride in working on the Neom port project, Oxagon, despite ongoing human rights concerns in the region.
Jacobs was appointed to provide technical and environmental advisory services to DataVolt as part of a $5 billion (£3.8 billion) initiative aimed at creating a sustainable, net-zero data center ecosystem.
DataVolt is developing a new artificial intelligence (AI) factory campus located in Oxagon, Neom’s advanced industrial city.
“Designed to operate at net zero, the facility will help meet rising global demand for AI data processing while minimizing carbon emissions.”
The AI campus will operate fully on renewable energy, employing advanced cooling techniques and energy-efficient architectural designs to minimize its environmental impact.
Jacobs described the design as using “advanced cooling systems and energy-efficient architecture to reduce its environmental footprint.”
Jacobs supports the innovative Neom project by contributing expertise toward a fully sustainable AI data center, despite challenges linked to local human rights issues.
