The 29.1-metre sailing yacht Thila, delivered in 2009 by the Australian shipyard Steve Ward & Co, is now listed for sale with Will Bishop of Superyacht Partners, a leading authority in the superyachting world.
Design and Construction
Commissioned for an esteemed Olympic yachtsman, Thila was built in Perth with an exterior designed by Dubois Naval Architects. Her interiors, crafted by British studio Rhoades Young Design, offer a warm and inviting atmosphere. The yacht is constructed from aluminium to Lloyd’s class standards.
Maintenance and Upgrades
Since her launch, Thila has seen professional operation and meticulous maintenance. She underwent an extensive refit in 2022, which included installing new generators, sails, and a thorough rig service.
Additional refit work took place in winter 2024 after a change of ownership, involving significant optimisations and upgrades to enhance performance and comfort.
Notable Modifications
- In 2016, a fully moulded bowsprit extension was added, specifically designed to fit one of her two impressive gennaker sails.
