Tim David smashed the longest six ever recorded in T20 International cricket, helping Australia post a strong total of 186 in the third T20 match against India at Hobart on Sunday night.
After early wickets of Travis Head and Josh Inglis in Hobart, Tim David arrived at the crease and dominated the Indian bowlers, reaching a half-century off just 23 balls. David was in exceptional form and hit a huge six off Indian spinner Axar Patel.
Fox Cricket commentator Mark Howard said, “That’s coming into the commentary box! It was nearly in the Derwent (River)!"
The six cleared most of the ground at Bellerive Oval, hitting the Ninja Stadium sign atop the David Boon Stand, traveling an estimated 129 metres. This distance marks the longest six in T20 International history and the biggest six recorded by Fox Cricket's statisticians.
