There is a gripping mystery and a flame-haired Australian actress, but Dakota Fanning notices significant differences between her new whodunit All Her Fault and last year’s hit The Perfect Couple.
After collaborating with Nicole Kidman, Fanning shares her thoughts on filming her latest Hollywood project Down Under and reflects on growing up in the spotlight. “There’s no dance,” she laughs, referring to the widely imitated flash mob scene from the 2024 Netflix series with Kidman. “There were also more laughs in The Perfect Couple. I think this [All Her Fault] leans more into the thriller side.”
She adds, “But what we’ve all learned is viewers love mystery and trying to figure out who is involved… that really brings an audience together.”
Fanning stars alongside Sarah Snook, an actress she admires following Snook’s acclaimed role in Succession. “Sarah, in real life, is just amazing,” she says warmly. “She’s a highly talented actor and a grounded, fun person to be around.”
Due to Snook’s busy schedule, they didn’t spend much time together off set. “It’s been important for her to recharge and be with her family,” Fanning explains.
Based on Andrea Mara's novel, the eight-part series features Snook as Marissa Irvine, a distraught mother whose child disappears during a playdate.
