The fifth and final season of the Duffer brothers’ Netflix hit, Stranger Things, is set to premiere in 2025. It will be released in three parts, marking the conclusion of the beloved sci-fi series.
Production for the final season began in January 2024 and officially wrapped in December 2024, after reaching its halfway point in July. The show’s writers room opened in August 2022, shortly after the release of Season 4 Part 2. Delays caused by the pandemic and Hollywood strikes extended the timeline beyond initial plans.
Netflix revealed the release schedule during its TUDUM event on May 31. The first part of Season 5 will debut in November 2025, followed by Part 2 on Christmas Day, and the series’ conclusion on New Year’s Eve.
Main cast members such as Noah Schnapp and Finn Wolfhard celebrated the end of production, sharing posts on social media reflecting on the decade they’ve spent growing with the series and its fans.
Stranger Things Season 5 will consist of eight episodes. Netflix has already released the official episode titles in advance of the premiere.
