Elder Gérald Caussé was called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Thursday. His ordination was performed by President Dallin H. Oaks along with members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ. He’s always been in the center of my life. And I know He’s our Savior and Redeemer. What a wonderful thing it is to be a witness of Christ. That’s the best responsibility or stewardship we might have in our lives.”
At 62 years old, Gérald Caussé was born in Bordeaux, France. He currently serves as the Presiding Bishop for the Church and has addressed youth during a devotional in Versailles, France, on July 21, 2024.
Apostles are described by the Church as “special witnesses of the name of Christ throughout the world.” They also hold key administrative duties, managing the operation and growth of the global Church.
