Steve Witkoff, US Special Envoy to the Middle East, revealed the upcoming addition but did not disclose the country’s name. He said the announcement would be made Thursday evening at an event in Washington.
“I’m flying back to Washington tonight because we’re going to announce tonight, another country coming into the Abraham Accords,” Witkoff said during a business forum in Miami, Florida.
President Trump is scheduled to host the leaders of five Central Asian nations—Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan—at the White House Thursday evening. It remains unclear if the announcement will be made during this gathering, but the President is expected to be present for any significant news.
