How Maxton Hall's James Cheated on Ruby in Season 2 Premiere

The second season of Maxton Hall started turbulently as James cheated on Ruby just days after they finally became a couple. During the premiere on Thursday, November 6, James (played by Damian Hardung) learned about his mother's death and rushed to Ruby’s (Harriet Herbig-Matten) house. However, after seeing her happy with her family, he left without being noticed.

Following this, James went on a drinking spree, which Ruby was unaware of until later. Concerned, Ruby and James’ sister Lydia (Sonja Weißer) set out to find him. Their search led them to a house party where James was drinking and dancing with other women.

Once he spotted Ruby, James jumped into the pool, joined by a stranger, and they kissed right in front of his girlfriend.

Season 2 Plot Overview

This season airs episodes weekly and adapts the second part of Mona Kasten’s novel Save You. The story continues after James and Ruby's “passionate night together in Oxford” and Ruby approaching her biggest life goal, with everything seemingly going well.

However, events take a sharp turn when “a stroke of fate in James’ family changes everything, and James himself, of all people, pulls her from cloud nine back to harsh reality.” Ruby experiences feelings stronger than ever before, but also the deepest hurt caused by James.
