Flinders Port Holdings Floats into Christmas Pageant

Flinders Port Holdings (FPH) has introduced a new custom-built float dedicated to celebrating maritime trade at the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide. The event underscores the vital role that shipping plays in delivering festive cheer and goods to South Australians.

The pageant begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, 8 November, marked by the traditional golden whistle. Since its inception in 1933, this parade has symbolized the beginning of the Christmas season across South Australia, drawing thousands of spectators of all ages to the streets of Adelaide.

“We’re thrilled to finally unveil our FPH float,”

shared the company on social media. They noted that the float

“celebrates the vital role maritime trade plays in bringing festive joy, and presents, to South Australians each year.”

The float stands out as the first custom-built entry to join the pageant in five years. It highlights a detailed replica of one of FPH’s Pilot boats surrounded by straddle carriers, containers, and a cheerful crew of FPH elves checking off Christmas gifts. A bright blue fabric ruffle below completes the scene, giving the impression of the boat gliding smoothly over water.

The launch took place earlier this week at Outer Harbor, where some of the company’s FPH elves also participated in the festivities.
