The creators and producer of Stranger Things have responded to reports that Millie Bobby Brown accused co-star David Harbour of harassment, which led to an investigation by Netflix.
At the season five world premiere of the Netflix hit, producer Shawn Levy emphasized their commitment to a respectful workplace. He said:
“The job is creat[ing] a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe. We did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so. And I’ve read a bunch of stories that range from wildly inaccurate to… you know, there’s so much noise around it.”
Levy, the director known for Deadpool & Wolverine, added, “The truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family and so we treat each other with respect. And that’s always been the bedrock.”
Ross Duffer, co-creator of the show along with his brother Matt, expressed care for the cast while avoiding detailed comments on the matter:
“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”
The Stranger Things leadership stresses their dedication to maintaining a respectful, safe environment for cast and crew, emphasizing the strong familial bond developed over years of collaboration despite recent allegations.
