Netflix has released the first five minutes of the long-awaited fifth season of Stranger Things, giving fans a thrilling preview of what’s to come ahead of its final release this November.
The clip opens with a nod to the show’s roots, taking viewers back to November 1983—the setting of the very first season. Instead of a montage of cast reactions, Netflix invites audiences to relive the story through the eyes of a younger Will Byers.
In the preview, Will Byers (played by Noah Schnapp) appears digitally de-aged as he flees through the woods. His escape is interrupted by the arrival of the Demogorgon—a creature disturbingly agile and, to Will’s horror, capable of climbing trees. The creature shrugs off bullets, forcing Will into a desperate leap from the treetops, before he crashes to the ground unconscious.
As Will lies motionless, the scene reveals the Demogorgon dragging his body back to its dark master, Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower). Shadows, chess pieces, and a sense of inevitable doom fill the final moments of the clip, setting up a chilling return to the Upside Down.
“Because he was always there, you see.”
Summary: Netflix teases the eerie opening of Stranger Things Season 5, showing a de-aged Will Byers fleeing the Demogorgon before being dragged back to Vecna’s domain.
