They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
This Remembrance Sunday, on 9 November, services and parades will take place across Angus to honor all who gave their lives defending our freedoms. Wreaths will be laid in tribute to their sacrifice.
If you are able, please take some time to join your community in these important commemorative events. If attendance is not possible, take a quiet moment to reflect, either alone or with your loved ones, and remember the fallen.
Tuesday, 11 November, is Armistice Day — another opportunity to pay our respects. At 11 a.m., whether at home or at work, pause for two minutes of silence to honor the courage and selflessness of our Armed Services.
We must and will remember them.
We also extend our gratitude to the service men and women who continue to protect our nation, both at home and abroad. As they safeguard us, we pledge to support them.
In recent years, the world has faced growing instability, as the harsh realities of war reach us through countless forms of media.
Remembrance Sunday calls people to unite in honoring the fallen and supporting those who still serve, reminding us to value peace and shared gratitude.
