Marvel Studios is launching a massive year-long marketing campaign for Avengers: Doomsday, with the first trailer debuting alongside this holiday season’s biggest blockbuster.
The excitement for Avengers: Doomsday skyrocketed after the announcement that Doctor Doom will appear in the film, revealed at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024. The initial hint came earlier in March 2025, through a five-hour chair video that unveiled the cast.
According to Collider, the teaser trailer will be shown exclusively before Avatar: Fire and Ash screenings starting December 19, 2025. However, this plan might be adjusted, as Disney retains the option to change the release strategy.
If this schedule holds, the trailer will run for nearly a full year—364 days—before the official Avengers: Doomsday premiere on December 18, 2026.
Although releasing a trailer so far in advance is uncommon for Disney, it is not without precedent. Back in November 2014, Disney unveiled the first teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens 13 months prior to its theatrical debut.
“The teaser trailer for the Avengers: Doomsday will be attached exclusively to screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19, 2025.”
“The idea of Disney releasing a trailer a whole year before a movie comes out is rare, but not entirely out of the question.”
Author’s summary: Marvel plans to kick off a nearly year-long promotional campaign for Avengers: Doomsday, releasing its first trailer in December 2025, a full year before the movie hits theaters.
