Believing in Easter means transforming our lives so we can change the world through the power of Christian hope. In his reflection on “The Resurrection of Christ and the challenges of today's world,” the Pope offered a message of optimism and hope during this morning's Audience.
Easter is described as “medicine, healing and gives hope to daily life” (Mt 28:18-20). This central idea connects closely with the Pope's prayer intention for November: “For the prevention of suicide,” as noted by CNS.
The Easter of Jesus is not a distant historical event confined to tradition but something that is made present every day. The Pontiff emphasized this when addressing English-speaking pilgrims:
“The Easter message is a sure anchor: love has conquered sin forever, and life triumphs over death.”
He further explained that the Church reminds us to celebrate the Resurrection not only on Easter Sunday but daily in the Eucharist, where the promise of the Risen Lord comes alive:
“‘Know that I am with you always, to the end of time’ (Mt 28:20).”
This Paschal Mystery is the foundation of Christian life, around which all other aspects revolve.
Author’s summary: The Pope highlights Easter as an ever-present source of hope and healing, urging believers to live its message daily as a powerful anchor against despair.
