Rugged schedule, Steph Curry’s illness force Warriors to take early precautions

Rugged Schedule and Steph Curry’s Illness Lead to Early Precautions

Head coach Steve Kerr has ruled out point guard Steph Curry for Wednesday’s game in Sacramento due to illness. Despite a recent cold worsening over the past few days, Curry had played through the symptoms during the Warriors’ 118-107 victory over Phoenix at Chase Center.

After the game, Curry admitted the illness affected his performance but initially did not rule out playing in the next game, showing his usual determination to stay on the court.

“I don’t care what the doctors say, we got to get him some rest. I’ll make the decision right now, he’s not going to play tomorrow,” said Steve Kerr.

In addition to Curry’s absence, the Warriors (5-3) may also be without star wing Jimmy Butler. Butler, who experienced lower back soreness, was forced to leave during halftime after playing just 14 minutes.
