Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry remains uncertain for Wednesday’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings. Following Tuesday’s victory over the Phoenix Suns, Curry revealed that he has been battling a cold, which affected his stamina.
“I was running out of energy toward the end,” Curry said after the game. “I’ll see how I feel after checking with the medical staff, but we’ll make the smart call.”
Curry recorded 28 points and five three-pointers in the win against Phoenix, but visible fatigue, especially in the second half, led to speculation that the Warriors might rest him on the second night of a back-to-back.
The Warriors could also face the Kings without forward Jimmy Butler, who exited Tuesday’s game with a back issue. Head Coach Steve Kerr acknowledged that losing both players would be a major depth challenge for the squad.
Sportsbooks have already reacted to the uncertainty, setting Sacramento as a 3.5-point home favorite, reflecting the market’s concern about the Warriors’ performance if Curry is unable to play.
Curry’s lingering cold and fatigue have cast doubt over his availability against Sacramento, further complicating the Warriors’ depth concerns after Butler’s back injury.
