Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV), a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, will introduce three robotaxi models in 2026 and start trial operations for the service. The announcement was made by the company's chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng, during the 2025 AI Day event in Guangzhou, the company’s headquarters.
The robotaxis will be equipped with four in-house developed Turing AI chips, delivering computing power up to 3,000 TOPS. They will utilize Xpeng's second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) model, which enables adaptive operation in diverse global traffic conditions.
Xpeng plans to open its robotaxi SDK (Software Development Kit) to partners globally, aiming to build a comprehensive robotaxi ecosystem.
