Ivica Zubac led the Clippers with 21 points and 15 rebounds, while John Collins scored 19 points in their 114-103 defeat. Kawhi Leonard missed his third consecutive game due to a sprain.
Inglewood — The Clippers aren’t panicking, but they recognize the need for improvement in several areas. They must enhance their defense, build stronger team chemistry, and control turnovers to surpass a mediocre record.
“We got to play better,” said Coach Tyronn Lue. “We all gotta to look our selves in the mirror.”
The team struggles with injuries and often falls behind by double digits. Despite clawing back from an 18-point deficit on Saturday night, they lost to the Phoenix Suns, 114-103, marking their fourth consecutive loss and third at home.
Coach Lue acknowledged their resilience: “When it gets tough, we got to get tougher and so I liked our fight back. I thought we did a good job of not letting go of the rope tonight.”
The game was closer than Thursday’s loss, with Kris Dunn scoring on a layup and James Harden making a free throw after a technical foul to reduce the deficit to 104-99.
Author’s note: The Clippers face ongoing struggles but show signs of fighting back, aiming for improvement in key areas to turn their fortunes around.
