Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke was joined by Chris Robinson, Bryan Adams, Joe Perry, and Nancy Wilson for a special performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. The band was officially inducted by Mick Fleetwood on Saturday night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
After Mick Fleetwood praised the band during his speech, Kirke took the stage with Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Nancy Wilson from Heart, and Joe Perry of Aerosmith. Together, they performed “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” which had a brief technical glitch at the start. Bryan Adams then led the vocals on “Can’t Get Enough,” delivering a strong performance alongside Robinson. However, the singers acknowledged it was difficult to match the legendary vocals of Bad Company's original frontman, Paul Rodgers.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health. I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else.”
Rodgers had to withdraw from the ceremony a week prior due to health reasons.
Following the onstage tribute, Simon Kirke accepted the Hall of Fame honor from Mick Fleetwood and recognized Paul Rodgers as one of the greatest singers ever. Kirke also paid respect to former band members Mick Ralphs, who passed away earlier this year, and Boz Burrell, who died in 2006.
