Canadian actor Mike Smith, 53, known for portraying Bubbles in the long-running series Trailer Park Boys, has been charged with sexual assault in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The alleged incident dates back to December 2017, according to a court filing in Nova Scotia Provincial Court.
Smith was ordered by the court not to contact or approach the alleged victim at their residence, workplace, or school. Following the charges, he stepped down from his position as managing director at Trailer Park Boys Inc.
“We are aware of the allegation concerning Mike Smith dating back to 2017 and take such matters seriously,” stated Trailer Park Boys Inc. “We recognize how difficult an allegation of this nature is for all involved. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not comment further on the case.”
Details regarding the alleged assault were not included in the released court documents. Smith has been a co-star and co-owner of the Trailer Park Boys franchise since purchasing the rights in 2013, alongside colleagues Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay. The show’s 13th season completed filming in August and is slated for release in 2026, marking the series’ 25th anniversary.
