Mike Smith, known for portraying Bubbles on the television series Trailer Park Boys, has been charged with sexual assault in Nova Scotia.
The Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service informed Acadia Broadcasting that Smith is set for arraignment in November. Court documents indicate the alleged incident occurred on December 30, 2017, in or near Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Smith has been ordered to have no contact with the complainant and must avoid her residence, workplace, and educational settings. He signed an undertaking to that effect in October.
The prosecution will request a publication ban to prevent revealing the identity of the victim, which is required under the Criminal Code of Canada. It remains unclear whether Smith will appear personally or through legal representation at the arraignment.
"Trailer Park Boys, Inc. is aware of the allegation and confirms that Mike Smith has stepped away from his role as managing director."
