Louisiana-based football influencer Peighton Tubre publicly denied rumors claiming she had an affair with LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier after a false Facebook article went viral.
“I was hoping it was going to go away and no one would see it.”
In a video shared with her more than 200,000 Instagram followers, the 26-year-old addressed the circulating claims. She explained that a Facebook post alleged she and Nussmeier were seen entering a hotel room the night before one of his games.
“Recently, there was an article posted on Facebook saying that I was having an affair with Garrett Nussmeier and that we were seen entering a hotel room together the night before one of his games.”
Tubre said she initially ignored the post because it wasn’t true and had little engagement online.
“It had 30 likes. I was hoping it was going to go away and no one would see it. Spoiler alert, everyone saw it.”
She added that after the article spread, people began contacting her and even her family members, which she described as unsettling. The rumors continued to grow, leading to another false claim suggesting Nussmeier had sent her inappropriate photos.
“Somebody sent me another article saying Garrett sent me unsolicited photos that made me uncomfortable, and I posted the screenshots on social media. If you follow me, you know I didn’t post anything like that. It is just fake, it is all fake.”
Peighton Tubre refuted viral online rumors linking her to LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, calling the claims entirely fabricated and spread through fake posts.
