Timberwolves Defeat Kings 144-117 for Fourth Win in Five Games

Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 26 points in a dominant 144-117 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night in Sacramento. Seven Wolves players scored in double figures, contributing to the team's sixth straight win in California’s capital.

The Timberwolves (6-4) have consistently performed well in Sacramento, much more so than when facing the Kings at home. They shot an efficient 53.6% from the field, sinking 18 three-pointers on 46 attempts and capitalizing on 18 Kings turnovers to score 37 points.

“Another complete game both ends of the floor,” Wolves coach Chris Finch said after the game. “I thought we were really sharp, which is what we needed to be. Built on the performances of the other day, and it continued into today. Really, really pleased with how we’re starting games defensively.”

This marked the Timberwolves’ fourth victory in five games and their second convincing win in a row. Although not as dominant as their 40-point win over Utah on Friday, the team maintained control, trailing briefly only early in the game.

Anthony Edwards’ Strong Performance

Returning from a hamstring injury after missing four games, Edwards contributed 26 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals on Sunday. He shot 7-for-16 from the floor, including 5-for-11 from beyond the arc, and was 7-for-8 at the free-throw line.

Edwards scored 37 points in Friday’s game against the Utah Jazz and has now made 12 of 23 three-point attempts over his past two outings.

Author’s summary: The Timberwolves showcased sharp offense and defense in Sacramento, led by Anthony Edwards' strong return, securing their fourth win in five games with an emphatic 144-117 triumph over the Kings.
