Hollywood icon Sally Kirkland, 84, is currently in hospice care at a Palm Springs hospital after enduring serious health challenges this past year.

Kirkland's representative, Michael Greene, informed the Daily Mail that the actress developed dementia last year. She suffered multiple fractures including four bones in her neck, her right wrist, and left hip.
During her recovery, Kirkland contracted two life-threatening infections requiring extensive hospitalizations and rehabilitation far beyond the coverage of her insurance.
