Party president Nick Tyrrell has been chosen as the Canberra Liberals' lead Senate candidate for the upcoming federal election. Known for his business acumen and strong community ties, Mr Tyrrell brings experience from both the public and private sectors.
A long-time Canberra resident, Tyrrell founded GoBoat Australia in 2017 on Lake Burley Griffin. The eco-friendly tourism venture has since expanded to four states, operating from its headquarters on the Kingston foreshore. Through GoBoat, he has contributed to activating Canberra’s waterfront and creating new local jobs.
Before his business career, Tyrrell worked as a Liberal staffer and senior government adviser. The party’s statement highlighted his dedication to the community and desire to improve life for families, small businesses, and first-home buyers.
