The Greater Dandenong City Council has been honoured for its strong sustainability efforts by winning the 2025 Cities Litter Award at the 43rd Annual Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria Tidy Towns & Cities Sustainability Awards.
These awards highlight environmental leadership and community engagement across Victoria, recognising initiatives that inspire behavioural change, protect nature, reduce waste, and build community resilience.
The Council’s Waste Services team earned recognition for the campaign “Bin It or Take It Home With You”, which promotes responsible litter disposal and awareness about the environmental harm caused by waste.
“This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our Waste Services Team, not just for this project, but for the work they do every day,” said Council Executive Director City Futures, Sanjay Manivasagasivam.
He added that the Council takes pride in leading activities that contribute to a cleaner, greener city.
