Emmy and SAG Award winner Samira Wiley will debut on Broadway this spring as Claire in the new revival of Proof, David Auburn’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play directed by Tony Award winner Thomas Kail.
Grammy nominee Jin Ha will also join the cast as Hal, performing alongside previously announced stars Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle. The production begins March 31, 2026, at the Booth Theatre.
A Juilliard graduate, Wiley recently returned to the London stage in Donmar Warehouse’s production of Lynn Nottage’s Intimate Apparel, following her performance in the National Theatre’s Blues for an Alabama Sky. Off-Broadway, she starred in the 2016 production of Daphne’s Dive at the Signature Theatre.
On television, Wiley portrayed Poussey Washington in Netflix’s acclaimed Orange is the New Black and appeared in Hulu’s adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale.
In 2018, Wiley won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama and received three additional nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Ha made his Broadway debut in 2017 in Julie Taymor’s staging of David Henry Hwang’s M. Butterfly. The following year, he portrayed Annas in NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, earning a shared Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.
