David Auburn’s acclaimed play Proof, winner of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize, is now available for tickets. The revival stars Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle, alongside Samira Wiley and Jin Ha.
The play will run at the Booth Theatre starting March 31, 2026, with an official opening night on April 16. Thomas Kail, a Tony Award-winning director, leads the production.
The story centers on Catherine (Edebiri), the gifted but troubled daughter of Robert (Cheadle), a celebrated mathematics professor. After Robert’s death, a notebook with a groundbreaking proof is found, sparking controversy over who authored it. Catherine faces the challenge of defending her legacy and proving herself.
Proof premiered off-Broadway at Manhattan Theatre Club in 2000 before moving to Broadway. It earned six Tony nominations, winning three awards including Best Play, and received the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
