Retail giant Marks & Spencer (M&S) has enhanced its logistics partnership with Zalando, following a new deal revealed in Zalando's Q3 results. Since 2022, M&S had a limited collaboration with Zalando alongside two other European marketplace partners—About You and Amazon—to fulfill orders.
Starting early next year, Zalando’s B2B logistics service, ZEOS, will manage M&S’s entire direct-to-consumer online business across continental Europe. This move expands the scope significantly, covering 21 markets with a streamlined logistics system.
The retailer reported a surge in online sales with Zalando, showing a 131% increase over the previous year in the last quarter. M&S cited the advantages of Zalando’s ZEOS solution, which offers enhanced inventory management by creating a unified stock pool and an advanced order system tailored for fashion, home, and beauty categories.
Besides M&S, Zalando also partners with another major UK retailer, Next, illustrating UK brands’ confidence in Zalando as a preferred logistics provider for mainland Europe. These agreements highlight the growing importance of efficient cross-border logistics in expanding online retail reach.
“Creating one single stock pool as well as an advanced order management system for Fashion, Home & Beauty products.”
The enhanced partnership promises to reduce delivery times across Europe by up to three days, benefiting customers with faster order fulfillment.
The expanded Zalando deal marks a key step for M&S in accelerating its European online business by leveraging Zalando’s advanced logistics capabilities and inventory efficiencies.
