Phanar Hierarch on Overcoming Conflicts and Ethnophyletism

Ethnophyletism, the conflation of ecclesiastical identity with ethnic identity, is a root cause of division, according to the Metropolitan. He warns that such ideology not only fuels disputes but also undermines genuine spiritual unity.
The hierarch calls for a conscious rejection of ethnophyletism to promote peace and reconciliation, emphasizing universal values over narrow nationalistic tendencies.
