Poll predicts East Hampshire could turn Lib Dem as Reform UK surge across county

Poll Predicts Shift in East Hampshire

A new YouGov poll suggests that East Hampshire could switch from Conservative to Liberal Democrat if an election were held today.

The survey, which polled 13,000 voters, also predicts a surge in support for Reform UK across the county, with the party potentially winning nine Hampshire constituencies.

According to the poll, Portsmouth North, Basingstoke, and Isle of Wight West, which voted Labour in 2024, are predicted to switch to Reform UK, costing Labour three parliamentary seats.

The poll projects a Reform UK government winning 311 seats, just 15 short of a majority.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service analysed what the poll suggests about how Hampshire residents might vote.
