Recent storms in the Globe area have significantly damaged US 60, with destroyed guardrails, cracked pavement, and ongoing flooding issues for motorists.
The closure was first announced on Saturday, with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) posting on Sunday that US 60 was closed in both directions between Superior and Miami due to severe flooding in the downtown area.
Some lanes were partially reopened later, but ADOT shut down traffic in both directions once again late Monday morning, with no estimated time for the highway to reopen.
