Investigators with the Columbus Police Department are re-examining a cold case that has remained unsolved for nearly three decades.
Laura Chaney, 37, was found shot to death on January 4, 1998, outside the former Peabody Apartments on Talbotton Road, now known as Ashley Station. Her killer has never been caught.
Chaney's children have made emotional pleas, asking anyone with information about their mother's murder to come forward to police. The Columbus Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit holds key evidence but needs someone to step forward and help solve the case.
