A recent study by the Family Research Council and the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University found that 68% of churchgoers believe marriage is between one man and one woman.
The survey, conducted in July, polled 1,003 churchgoing adults and explored their beliefs on social topics and family life.
Among adults who attend Christian worship at least monthly, 68% agreed marriage is between one man and one woman.
However, only 46% defined "family" in corresponding terms of a husband and wife, their children, and relatives.
Author's summary: Churchgoers define marriage traditionally.
