Released Castleford Tigers Star Joins Championship Team
Josh Hodson, a centre recently released by Castleford Tigers, has signed a two-year deal with Sheffield Eagles, a Championship team, starting from 2026.
Hodson, born in Shropshire, spent the last two seasons with Super League outfit Castleford Tigers, joining them from Batley Bulldogs in 2024. However, he struggled to find consistent game time, playing only ten games across all competitions for the Tigers.
During the 2025 campaign, Hodson had loan spells with Widnes Vikings and Sheffield Eagles in the Championship. Now, at 25 years old, he has rejoined the Eagles on a permanent basis.
