After a loss to No. 2 North Carolina, the No. 3 Virginia field hockey team sought to bounce back with a win against No. 7 Liberty at home.
“Coming off of a loss we really wanted to capitalize on today,”

The Cavaliers took control early, with two shots to the Flames' zero in the initial minutes. The lone goal came from a deflected shot by graduate midfielder Suze Leemans eight minutes in, securing a 1-0 win for Virginia.
