Peruvian Gymnast Wins Gold at South American Championship
A young Latter-day Saint from Peru, Antonella Belén Rocha Muñoz, won the gold medal at the South American Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship in Bolivia in September 2025.
Rocha had been working towards this moment since she was 6 years old. Before competing, she prayed to God, trusting Him to take care of her. She decided to enjoy the moment, finding a balance between nerves and excitement.
I think that balance between nerves and excitement was what helped me shine
Rocha won the gold medal for Peru in the senior duo category. On the podium, singing Peru's national anthem, she felt deep pride, relief, and appreciation for God.
