A Pennsylvania family's vacation plans took an unexpected turn when they discovered their cat, Ray Ray, on the roof of their van after driving 100 miles from home.
The Denardo family had set out on a trip to New Hampshire for a marathon and then on to New York City, saying their goodbyes to their pets and locking up the house. However, Ray Ray had other plans.
“We had driven for two hours and needed to stop for gas,” Mara Denardo said. “My husband gets out of the car to pump the gas and is like, ‘The cat is on the roof.’”
The family was shocked and amused by the discovery, with panic turning to disbelief and then laughter.
Ray Ray survived 100 miles of wind, bumps, and highway traffic on the roof of the van, which was traveling at 70 miles per hour on Interstate 80.
