SGA passes bill regulating, restructuring ‘inactive’ Student Court

SGA Passes Bill Regulating Student Court

The Student Government Association (SGA) senators have amended the SGA's bylaws to restructure and increase oversight of the Student Court.

The Judicial Branch Bylaws Establishment Act was passed unanimously, requiring the Student Court to meet at least four times a semester and issue monthly reports to the legislative and executive branches.

The act also establishes two lower courts to hear cases before they reach the full panel of seven justices, increasing the efficiency of the Student Court.

The Student Court, the SGA's judicial branch, will now have to meet monthly and provide regular updates to other branches.
