Soulwax Redefines Rock Music
Soulwax, a Belgian group, has been at the intersection of rock and electronic music for decades. The creative core, David and Stephen Dewaele, have evolved from generating grunge sounds to leftfield-techno tracks.
Their latest album, All Systems Are Lying (DEEWEE/Because Music), aims to capture the feeling of a band playing electronic instruments live. Using modular synths, live drums, tape machines, and processed vocals, Soulwax claims to have made "a rock album … without any guitars."
