This past week, I witnessed history at the grand inauguration of Green Energy's $400 million Otakikpo Crude Oil Terminal in Andoni, Rivers State.
President Bola Tinubu was represented by Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri. The Otakikpo Terminal is significant as it is the first of its kind in Nigeria in the past 50 years.
The existing five crude export terminals are owned by International Oil Companies and have been in operation for more than 50 years. This new terminal is owned by an indigenous firm, making it a notable addition.
