Supreme Court Declines to Hear Corner-Crossing Case

The Supreme Court declined to hear the corner-crossing case, which originated from four hunters from Missouri crossing a corner in Wyoming.

The case had the potential to provide a final decision on access to millions of acres of public land in the West, but the justices did not provide a reason for declining to hear it.

The issue that has affected the public-land hunting community for years is, at least for now, settled in part of the West.

According to the hunters' attorney, Ryan Semerad, corner crossing remains legal in Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah, which are covered by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

However, corner crossing remains a legal gray area in other states.

Author's summary: Court declines corner-crossing case.
