Residents across the Southern Inlands are warned to prepare for damaging winds and hot weather.

A severe weather warning has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM), forecasting damaging winds across the region on Wednesday, October 22.

A "hot and gusty day" is expected across parts of the Southern Tablelands and Southern Highlands as a frontal system moves across the state.

Residents are being told to prepare for the risk of falling trees and powerlines.
