Ash Fall After Minor Eruption of Kanlaon Volcano
Residents of several barangays in at least three local government units in Negros Island experienced ash fall following a minor eruption of the Kanlaon Volcano on Friday, October 24, 2025.
According to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD)-NIR, the ash fall affected several areas. The Bago City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office has been placed on standby for possible evacuation of residents of Barangay Mailum.
The eruption generated a plume "that rose 2,000 meters above the crater before drifting northeast" - Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
