A partial collapse at Manchester's Alberton House during demolition has sparked a safety probe.
Incident Details
The 11-storey Alberton House demolition site on Bridge Street was involved in the incident, with scaffolding giving way and sending debris toward the River Irwell.
- No injuries were reported, according to the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS).
- The incident has been handed over to Manchester Building Control for structural assessment.
A fire engine attended the scene just after 2:50 pm, with a spokesperson stating,
"No people involved and the crew are leaving, and leaving this with building control.
