Early Voting for New York's Next Mayor Begins
Early voting for New York's next mayor starts on Saturday, with outsider Democratic Party candidate Zohran Mamdani as the favorite to win.
Mamdani, a 34-year-old self-described socialist, has surged to the front of the campaign, leading with 47 percent support in the latest citywide poll.
He is followed by Cuomo, who trails by 18 points, and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa, who has 16 percent support.
Early voting will continue until November 2, with Election Day on November 4, and the winner taking office in the New Year.
